| What an amazing event to take part in but what a mess as well. This round of the ECKC held on the streets of Trois-Rivieres was spectacular. Dubbed the “Petite Monaco” the resemblance to the real Monaco in F1 is incredible with a run along the waterfront, racing through the downtown streets and even through a tunnel. The track was also incredibly challenging with no room for error. Bent chassis', Axles, tie rods, steering columns where everywhere and that was just the practice sessions. Fortunately, Chase was able to make it all the way to the Final with no damage to report, but he wouldn't go home unscathed. Chase had a very strong start and was able to avoid the mayhem until he was hit from behind about a 1/3 into the race and spun. Left sideways on the track and at a standstill, Chase was a sitting duck for a group of half a dozen racers charging hard and not able to see Chase just around a blind corner. They all piled into him pushing his right sidepod up hard into the rad but somehow it wasn't ruptured. Chase restarted and was able to finish the race strong in a solid 9th place in this talented field. It was a strong result to take away from this wreckfest but would leave Chase still in 13th overall, shy of his top 10 goal with only 1 race to go. |
