The track had an incredible amount of grip today which would lead to many drivers to set personal best times as well as the track record being shattered in Qualifying. Chase would opt to stay on used tires for this event anticipating sufficient performance from them to remain competitive however 3 other top runners opted for stickers. To make matters worse, Chase would suffer from a technical issue in the towers timing in Qualifying. Although the karts data acquisition system showed he had the speed for 4th on the grid, Chase was relegated back to the 13 spot deep in the field with his protests falling on deaf ears. Not to be outdone by a timing error, Chase moved all the way up to 4th in the Pre-Final giving him a shot for the Final but his tires paid the price. The Final would prove uneventful as the 4 front runners would pull a gap on the rest of the field but could not challenge each other for positions. P4 would be the result leaving Chase with another strong finish but narrowly missing the podium.
