Chase can't seem to catch a break in the ECKC. This weekend, for the Double Header at Mosport Park, Chase found the pace to be competitive, clocking laps consistent with the top 5 runners but it would be mishaps in the pre-finals including a broken throttle cable that lead to less than anticipated results. Saturday, Chase had a tough task starting from 22nd after the failed cable caused a DNF in the pre-final. He had a strong drive working his way through traffic but 11th was as far as he would get before the checkered fell. Sunday, accidents would be the deciding factor. The pre-final started with a large crash amongst the leaders. Chase was caught up with no where to go and squeezed out onto the grass by another kart looking to avoid the mayhem. This would allow the majority of the grid to storm well off into distance before Chase could rejoin. He would catch the pack and start to work his way forward but 15th was the best he could achieve before the end. With only the 2 Quebec races to go, Chase's expectation of being solidly within the top 10 in the ECKC will be a tough achievement. Currently, he is sitting 13th but without a single top 5 finish so far, the required drop will hurt.
