ECKC Schedule Change |

The venue for the Canadian National Championship has changed. Since the ECKC intended to have the June 19 race as a prep race for the Nationals, arrangements have been made to move this race at SRA Karting in St-Roch-de-L'Achigan, Quebec to the new circuit in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec on August 6 where the Nationals will run only 2 weeks later. This will actually add a race to Chase's schedule since the Coupe de Montreal race is in Mont-Tremblant on August 5th. The extra race will provide valuable track time ahead of the Nationals. The Rotax Max Challenge series has moved their regularly scheduled race for August 6 to June 19 to accommodate the altered ECKC schedule. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ |

Chase and High Velocity Motorsports look south of the boarder for Sponsorship. With plans to participate in the Florida Winter Tour for 2010 and the significantly increases racing budget that comes with it, it is time to show America what HVM can bring to the table in the way of Corporate Sponsorship Packages. They aren't going into it wearing rose coloured glasses though. A new National Kart Team is born. Trevor Wickens and Frank Menotti team up to create Prime Kartsport. Following a very tough 2009 racing season, Trevor and Frank get together just in time to salvage the former National Team running out of Cameron Motorsports. If anyone can pull this group together, they are the ones to make it happen. With a new state of the art, Land and Sea Chassis already on order and a well seasoned staff, the future is starting to look brighter for Chase as he looks to expand his racing program. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ |

After all the excitement and hype, the equipment started to arive. That was the end of the celebration - even before it had achance to get started. The prototypes performed fantastic but the the karts off the production line from China were terrible. Chase was fortunate to have one that actually performed fairly well however the majority of the field were plagued with engine failures and a multitude of electrical problems. Initial test races ahead of the series start would see a 75 - 80% mechanical DNF rate. With high level series Sponors on board, the series was cancelled before it could get off the ground leaving Chase and many other sitting on equipment without a series to run it in. Racing can be a tough sport but this fiasco would put a serious dent into many young racers' plans and pocket books . __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ |

Children with Diabetes is an organization designed to promote the understanding of the care and treatment of diabetes, especially in children. The topic of the Toronto Conference was “Focus on Pumping”. Research has shown that using an insulin pump is one of the best ways to manage type 1 diabetes. Alongside other talented stars like CFL Grey Cup winner John Chick, Word Cup Bronze Medalist Snowboarder Mike Fisher, World Championship Outrigger Canoeist Leanne Stanley and Olympian, World Cup and Pan Am Games Canadian Rowing Team competitor Chris Jarvis, Chase spoke to over 350 people about how insulin pump therapy has helped him to pursue his goals in racing. Selected from over 1000 Racers from across Canada that have submitting their Driver Bios, Chase has been accepted to participate in this exciting new Nationally Televised Series. The Series event dates and locations are found on the HVM Race Calendar, with the exception of the location of the Finale. The Series has 4 proposals submitted to host the finale and the Stars of Canada will be deciding the location in the very near future. The first event weekend is the Full Throttle Mosport Grand Prix (DDT North Track), the second event weekend is the Monster Hamilton Grand Prix, the third event weekend will be the Rock Star Sutton Grand Prix, and the fourth event will see the series go back to Mosport for the Power Aid Mosport Grand Prix (DDT South Track).
